Schools in Mountain Home, Arkansas: What Families Should Know
We love the kids here. Plenty of families stay with us — folks between houses, parents working in town, grandparents with the grandkids for fishing season. And the first question every parent asks is the same: what about school?
Good news: your kids can go to school from right here.
The School Bus Stops Right in Front
This is the part parents love most. The school bus picks up right in front of the park. No driving across town, no 6 AM logistics — your kids walk out the door and get on the bus.
One honest note: bus routes can shift a little year to year. When you enroll, call the district transportation office at (870) 425-1240 and confirm your stop. Takes two minutes.
One District, About 10 Minutes to Every School
The park sits inside Mountain Home Public Schools — one district, one enrollment office, and every campus is about 10 minutes from our gate. The district ranks in the top 20% of Arkansas school districts for combined math and reading proficiency.
| School | Grades |
|---|---|
| Kindergarten Center | Pre-K – K |
| Nelson–Wilks–Herron Elementary | 1–2 |
| Hackler Intermediate | 3–5 |
| Pinkston Middle School | 6–7 |
| Mountain Home Junior High | 8–9 |
| Mountain Home High School (the Bombers) | 10–12 |
Friday night football is a real thing here — royal blue and gold, 6A West, and your kid can be a Bomber.
Enrolling From an RV Park Address
It’s simpler than people expect. Call the district office at (870) 425-1201 and tell them you’re staying at Mountain Home RV Park. Ask what they need for proof of residency with an RV park address — usually your site agreement plus ID covers it.
Arkansas also has school choice: if you’re moving mid-year from another district, you can apply to transfer. Ask the district office about current deadlines when you call.
Why Families Stay With Us

- Dry Run Creek — about 15 minutes away, trophy trout water just for kids under 16. Your grandkids will talk about it for years.
