- Norfork Dam — about 12 miles southeast of Mountain Home. Worth the drive for the view and the tailwater below.

Both Buzzard Roost and Cranfield are public Corps of Engineers ramps — check current day-use fees before you go. Weekends in spring and summer fill the parking lots early — go on a weekday if you can, or be the first truck in line. The park’s 10 minutes away, so “early” doesn’t mean 4 AM unless you want it to.

- Monday: Buzzard Roost at sunrise. Bass on the points.
- Tuesday: Sleep in. Do laundry. Restock at Walmart (it’s a walk).
- Wednesday: Cranfield side. Crappie around the brush.
- Thursday: Day off the lake — White River trout, a short drive.
- Friday: Evening striper run. They’re worth staying up for.
- Weekend: Your call. The ramps are busiest; the town is quiet.
